Exhaustion and Transformation

We never change for no reason

Almost always, change comes only when the old way becomes unbearable.
Exhaustion is not just a signal — it’s a sign of transformation.

When the brain’s energy for resistance runs out, it stops holding on to the old model and becomes open to something new.
Exhaustion often unlocks solutions that were previously inaccessible — not because of logic, but because of internal blocking.

This is not a flaw — it’s part of our nature

The brain saves energy for a reason.
As long as the situation feels familiar, we leave it untouched — even if it hurts.
Building a new model is always energy-intensive. If the old one still somehow works, we rarely let it go.

Nature works the same way

Before a snake sheds its skin, it becomes sluggish, its vision weakens, and it hides away.
A caterpillar dissolves completely inside its cocoon before becoming a butterfly.
Growth almost always requires the destruction of the old form — and vulnerability.
Transformation is impossible without temporarily losing stability.
This is the price of real change.

We are no different

People often begin to change only when they reach a point of exhaustion.
When the old way collapses — and a chance for something new emerges.
And that new thing almost always comes with vulnerability.

We open up — not because we want to, but because we can’t do it any other way.

But we are not prisoners of instinct

We have the ability to act differently.
The higher our awareness, the better the chances to:
– anticipate a crisis instead of waiting for it
– notice signals from the body and mind before collapse
– change habits not out of fear, but because of values
– stay sensitive and conscious even in moments of weakness and transition

This is what we call maturity, resilience — or, more simply, freedom.
The freedom to be vulnerable, but not defenseless.

About values

Strangely enough, when it comes to machines, gadgets, and household appliances — we already know how to care.
We check tire pressure, change the oil, update apps, and monitor battery levels.
We’ve learned not to push them to exhaustion.

We already have the skill of awareness — we just don’t apply it to ourselves.
We care for our devices but miss our own fatigue.
We track technical resources but ignore our own.

Awareness is a skill

Maybe we were never taught.
Maybe no one told us it mattered.
But awareness is a skill. It can be learned.

And unlike a device — we don’t get a second edition of ourselves.
